Well, it seems like all the recent highschool graduates are doing crazy things. Dying their hair, getting tattoos, moving out... so I decided it was my turn. Okay, I admit it, my little excursion was not nearly as permanent as the afformentioned actions. However, I am rather excited to announce that... are you ready for it?

Last night, I went to my first club! It was called Osiris. There was a dj who was playing hip/hop, rap type music which we basically danced to for about 3 hours. We had to stand in a line outside for about 20 min. before we could get in, there were bouncers, I had to show my ID (this club was open to everyone 18 and up), there were lights, booths built into the walls, and so much more! Actually some of the "so much more" I would like to forget. But overall it was an awsome night.

So that's my exciting adventure. And you were worried I had pierced my nose.  Well... we'll see.

Catch Me If You Can

I have returned to the land of Fort Collins. Exciting no? Well, right now, no, it's not really that exciting since not many people are around, I've finished packing, and Molly and Jesse are off somewhere getting "reacquainted" I guess... Anyhoo, I have discovered that I like coming back and unpacking all my stuff. I get to proudly display my new Canadian Beaver Mountie Nodding Head Doll and in a few weeks I hope to have a new bonsai growing on my shelf (not out of my shelf, mind you, but out of it's designated pot which shall be on my shelf).

Last night had to be one of the greatest "last nights in Canon" ever! Donuts (not the edible kind), Snow Angels, Icicles, and Hot Chocolate. And we found Daisy's keys and phone... AND we didn't get stopped by the cops! It was mad fun. And now, here I sit, in my room with nothing to do. Talk about anticlimactic. Oh well, I am looking forward to this semester so... I'll just eat a Tortilla PBJ and some soup and dream of what's to come!

*Edit* Hey! Look! My last five posts have been within the same month! Aren't you proud?

Ok, so I've decided I need to go back to school. I am kind of excited about classes and all that jazz. I am really excited about seeing everyone from the good ol' T. house. But the real reason I think it is time to return is the fact that my brain seems to be slowing down at an alarming rate. Example: The reason I put a track down for the CD I'm listening to is that I didn't realize that my player was on repeat and I just listened to this specific song for about 30 min! Example 2: I have only been reading fluff books since being home. Here is a list of my reading selections for the past month: House by Frank Peretti and Ted Deker (One of the worst books I have ever read. I should have stopped at about page 100), The House on the Gulf by Margaret Peterson Haddix (this piece of fluffy young adult fiction is an o.k. book but not anything spectacular), Double Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix (I don't know why I loved her so much when I was a young child. This book was not very well written, the plot was weak and predictable and the ending was disappointing), Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz (Another so-so book, not really my style and really just some more novel fluff) and finally, I reread the first Harry Potter book which of course is grand but still... The truth is, nothing is really terrible about my reading selections but I am left asking myself, "Where are the classics?!? Where is the philosophy?" I have just spent a month laying around, refusing to stretch myself (sadly that also brings up some problems with my daily physical activity as well) refusing to ask the tough questions! So, although I have told many people that I have no New Years resolutions this year, I have decided to change that. My resolution shall be to read things that I would not normally just pick up for enjoyment but which could expand my knowledge in ways I tend to ignore. It's time for exercise! My brain is out of shape and I am going to become my own personal trainer! Now how's that for a motivational type sentence.

I have decided that Benny and Joon is the newest edition to my list of favorite movies... actually, to my list of favorite things ever! I absolutely love this film! I love how simple it is, I love the humor and the romance and I love the different characters (especially Johnny Depp's part of Sam!). Basically, this movie rocks and if you haven't seen it then you need to go rent, buy or borrow it as soon as possible and then watch it right away. Okay, so maybe I'm going a bit overboard, but hey, I love Benny and Joon.

Okay, new subject, I got a Christmas present from my wonderful roomate today! You all have to see my new pants that she made me. They are blue and white striped... sort of. They make me look like a hippy but I don't care. Oh, and the card she sent me was pure brilliance. It said, and I quote,

it's a good thing
snowflakes aren't
made out of lead.
if they were they
would hurt when
they fell on
your head.

Isn't that amazing?!?! The rhyme, the form, the brilliance of the poem just blows me away. (Thanx a lot, Josh, now all I can think of when I say that is your pathetic pick up line! )

So, there isn't really much else to report here in my life. I have been bored out of my mind for the last three days as it seems everyone has been busy. I figured out that I have read 3 (almost 4) books and watched 8 movies (3 in the theater) in the last week and a half! I need something to do! Please, anyone, HELP!!!

Oh, one last thing, a great friend of mine, Mikaela is now officially engaged as of New Years and I am to be her maid of honor. Which I consider, well, an... honor. ehem.

Wicked (2003 Original Broadway Cast)

Is it weird that so many times in my life when something happens I immediately think of a song to go along with the occasion? Lately many of the songs have been from Wicked. I am coming to love this musical and I really want to see it live. (hint hint )

And now for something completely different... I would really appriciate it if you all could pray for me this next few months as I consider going to the Philippines this next fall. I'll keep you updated.

Guess what!?! I just found out that Wicked is coming to the Denver theater for a month this next May!!! I want to go so bad. I will find a way to buy the $30 tickets!
